While attending high school at Central High School in Kansas City, Missouri, Derek started playing basketball. After graduating high school and attending college, he played basketball with Arkansas Razorbacks from 1995 to 1999.

Derek Hood Goes Professional In HIs Basketball Career

Derek Hood began his professional basketball career in 1999. He started playing for the Charlotte Hornets in 1999. During the years of 1999 to 2000, Hood also played with Quad City Thunder. From 2000 to 2001, Derek played for the Kansas City Knights. Derek played for the Snaidero Udine that same year in 2001. From 2001 to 2003, he played for the Mobile Revelers and the Toros de Aragua professional basketball team.

Derek Hood was an international professional basketball player with the ASVEL Villeurbanne team in France. Hood also has played with Itlay's Snaidero Udine team.
